Goodwood General Construction completed a driveway drainage project in Newton, Massachusetts, with a channel drain, drywell installation and asphalt restoration. The gutter downspout was also tied into the drainage system to handle roof runoff.

Driveway Drainage Beside the Garage
This project brought together drainage work below the driveway and a channel drain along the garage entrance. The photo sequence documents the drywell chamber before it was covered, the drain during installation, and the asphalt around the completed work.
Drywell Installation
After excavation beside the garage, the drywell chamber was set in stone and filter fabric. This view shows the chamber and surrounding materials during installation, before backfilling.

Channel Drain Installation
The channel drain was positioned along the garage entrance. The installation photograph shows the grate, spirit levels and wet concrete while the surrounding driveway area was still open.

Gutter Downspout Connection for Roof Runoff
Goodwood also connected the gutter downspout to the drainage system, incorporating roof runoff into the project. The installation photo above shows the downspout connection beside the channel drain.
Asphalt Restoration and Finished Drainage Work
Once the drainage installation was in place, the disturbed driveway area was restored with asphalt. The completed view shows the channel drain beside the patched surface at the garage threshold. The final footage shows water flowing into the drain.
